| Obverse description | Hammered copper flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend disposed across the field in bold, cursive Naskh script. The inscription reads 'Sher Shah Sultan / Khallada Allahu mulkahu' (May God perpetuate his reign), struck with characteristic Sur period calligraphic style. The lettering is deeply impressed but irregularly distributed across the broad, slightly convex flan, with letters overlapping toward the periphery. The field shows no decorative border or ornamental devices, typical of the utilitarian copper coinage of Sher Shah Suri. Overall strike is bold though off-center, consistent with hand-hammered production at a provincial mint. |
