Obverse description Struck on an irregular copper flan, the obverse bears a bold Arabic legend reading 'Adil Shah' in two lines across the field, executed in a simple angular Naskh-style script typical of medieval Deccan sultanate coinage. The lettering is deeply struck but shows characteristic irregular flan edges and surface roughness consistent with hammered copper coinage of the Madurai Sultanate. The field is flat and unadorned, with no border or decorative elements surrounding the inscription.
