Obverse description Central field features the Baroda state symbol comprising a short hoof and scimitar, accompanied by the Devanagari legend 'Sarkar', all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding annulus bears the full Devanagari inscription naming the ruler Shri Sayajirao M. Gaekwad with his honorific title 'Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur', meaning 'brave and distinguished swordsman'. The design is rendered in a crisp, raised relief typical of late nineteenth-century Indian princely state milled coinage.
