Reverse description The reverse presents a two-line Arabic legend divided by a horizontal line through the centre of the flan, a layout commonly employed on Madurai Sultanate copper issues. The upper register bears the opening element of the ruler's title and the lower register completes the royal epithet 'Audhauji Shah al-Sultan'. The lettering is deeply but irregularly struck, with some weakness at the flan edges owing to the hand-hammered production method. The field is plain, and the coin exhibits the characteristic rough fabric of this series.
