| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold serpentine or S-shaped device rendered in relief, characteristic of the decorative motifs employed at the Jawad mint under Mahadji Rao Scindia. Several pellets or globular ornaments are distributed around the central device within the field. The coin is bordered by a continuous row of beads forming a dotted rim, typical of hammered copper coinage of the Gwalior princely state. The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the edges, consistent with hand-struck production. Extensive green patination (verdigris) is visible across the copper surface. |
