Additional information

Jaipur's copper paisa coinage of this period occupies an unusual position in Indian numismatic history — the princely states retained the right to strike their own low-denomination copper coins long after silver and gold issues had been consolidated under British imperial control. Man Singh II ascended the gaddi in 1922 at age eleven following the death of Madho Singh II, and the extended date range of this type reflects his entire minority and early reign under a British-supervised regency that lasted until 1931.

KM#155 is frequently found heavily worn, consistent with heavy bazaar use across nearly a quarter century of production.
