| Obverse description | A lion passant to left occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, stylized manner characteristic of Sikh Empire copper coinage. Above the lion, within an arched panel, the AH date 1254 is inscribed in Arabic numerals. Additional Arabic legends appear in the lower and left portions of the field, framing the lion. The flan is irregular and slightly rough, consistent with the hammered production technique employed at provincial Sikh mints. The overall design reflects the artistic conventions of the Derajat mint. |
