Additional information

Rajaram was the third son of Shivaji and ruled only briefly as a fugitive king — most of his reign after 1689 was spent fleeing Mughal forces across the Deccan following Aurangzeb's capture and execution of his brother Sambhaji. Copper paisa issues attributed to his reign present genuine attribution difficulties, as Maratha mint records from this period are fragmentary and several issues previously assigned to Rajaram have since been reattributed to Shivaji's earlier administration at Raigad.
