| Obverse description | Central field bearing a large Regnal Year (RY) date inscribed in Arabic numerals in the Nastaliq script, boldly struck and occupying the majority of the flan. The numerals are rendered in a crude but characteristic style typical of hammered issues from the Datia princely state mint. The irregular flan edge and uneven surfaces reflect the hand-struck nature of this coinage. |
