| Obverse description | Deity Lakshmi-Narayana (Vishnu seated with consort Lakshmi) depicted in frontal aspect at centre of the coin, rendered in bold primitive relief typical of South Indian hammered gold coinage. The figure holds the shanka (conch) and chakra (discus), the emblematic attributes of Vishnu, with radiating lines visible in the field surrounding the central group. The die-work is characterised by the stylised, granular treatment of the forms standard to Vijayanagara-period pagodas. |
