Otto Lilienthal, born on May 23, 1848 in Anklam and died on August 10, 1896 in Berlin, is a German pioneer of aeronautics. Since the first flights of the Montgolfier brothers, aeronautics was oriented in two directions: lighter and heavier than air. The latter was explored with great rigor by Otto Lilienthal, who remains for most of the world`s glider pilots the first of them.
