Obverse description The obverse features a central oval cartouche with the legend SHRINERS in relief at the top. Within the cartouche, the Shriner emblem is depicted in high relief: a fez-wearing Shriner figure flanked by a ceremonial sword and crescent, above a large five-pointed star within a circle, with the date 1973 in the exergue. Flanking legends in the field read 'SHRINERS PLAY THAT CRIPPLED CHILDREN MAY WALK' to the left and 'SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN' to the right.
