| Obverse description | St. Mark seated at left, accompanied by St. Anthony of Padua standing behind him, together presenting a staff surmounted by a cross and pennant to the kneeling Doge Francesco Molin at right. The mintmaster's initials G·B·Z· appear in the exergue. The surrounding legend reads S·M·V GERMINAVIT LILIVM FLOREBIT ÆTERNO FR MOL·D·, combining the Venetian ducal invocation with a Marian floral motto. The composition is rendered in fine baroque relief typical of Venetian osella coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. |
