Reverse description A large concave mirror at right reflects and concentrates the rays of the sun, directing them toward a sailing vessel at left which is depicted engulfed in flames upon the sea, illustrating the allegorical concept of focused power and divine protection. The design references the ancient device of Archimedes and carries a strong emblematic quality characteristic of Venetian osella reverses. The date appears in the exergue below in two lines, accompanied by the regnal year numeral VI.
