| Reverse description | Plain field bearing a five-line Latin dedicatory inscription arranged centrally: ALOYSII / MOCENICI / PRINCIPIS / MUNUS A·XIII / 1775, recording this osella as the gift of Doge Alvise Mocenigo IV in the thirteenth year of his reign. The inscription is surrounded by an elegant wreath of laurel or olive branches tied at the base, with a small star or pellet ornament at the top. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed border consistent with the obverse. The composition is formal and epigraphic in character, typical of Venetian oselle of the late eighteenth century. |
