Reverse description The reverse presents the denomination in two lines at center, with the numeral '1' above and 'ØRE' below in bold, widely-spaced Latin letters occupying the central field. The year of issue appears in small characters immediately beneath the denomination. Three decorative triquetra-like triangular ornaments are positioned symmetrically in the field — one at lower center and one each at upper left and upper right — lending a distinctly Norse decorative character to the otherwise spare design. The composition and style reflect wartime austerity, with a plain, unadorned border.
