Obverse description The obverse features a deeply mirrored concave field at center bearing the State of Israel coat of arms — a menorah flanked by olive branches above the legend 'ישראל' — rendered in fine relief. Surrounding the central device, a bold circular legend in three scripts reads 'ISRAEL' and 'ישראל' (Hebrew) and 'إسرائيل' (Arabic) arched across the upper field, with 'TOWER OF BABEL GEN. 11' and 'מגדל בבל בראשית י"א' continuing the arc. The denomination '1 NEW SHEQEL' and 'שקל חדש 1' appear in the lower field alongside the dual date '2002' and the Hebrew calendar year 'ה'תשס"ב'. The legends are rendered in a distinctive mixed serif and block typeface consistent with Israel Mint commemorative issues of this period, and a small Star of David punctuates the left field.
