| Reverse description | The reverse depicts the biblical scene of Daniel in the lions' den, rendered in detailed relief. Daniel is shown in a posture of prayer, kneeling or standing in supplication toward the Lord, with two fierce lions positioned on either side of him. Despite the proximity of the predators, Daniel remains unharmed, conveying the miraculous divine protection described in the Book of Daniel, Chapter 6. The composition is strongly centered on Daniel's figure, with the lions' powerful forms flanking him symmetrically. The artistic treatment is expressive and narrative in character, consistent with Israeli commemorative coin design of this period. |
