Additional information

Edward VIII's abdication in December 1936 after less than a year on the throne created an administrative headache across British India's princely states, many of which had already struck coins in his name. Jaipur was among them. The nazarana designation marks this as a presentation piece rather than a circulation strike — nazarana coins were produced for ceremonial gifting, typically to mark a ruler's visit or a formal darbar audience, and were never intended for commerce.

Man Singh II was only eleven years old in 1936, having acceded to the Jaipur gadi in 1922 as a minor under British supervision.
