The mint department identifier 户 (Ho), denoting the Treasury Department (Hojo), appears at left. The series indicator 日 (Il, meaning 'sun' or used as a series marker) appears at top, and the serial number 四 (Sa, meaning four) appears at bottom, identifying this piece as belonging to Series 4 of the Ho mint issue. The reverse follows the standard Joseon cash coin convention of encoding mint, series, and issue number around the central hole. |
