Obverse description Multi-line Arabic calligraphic legend elegantly arranged across the field, executed in the florid Naskh or Nastaliq script characteristic of Durrani-period gold coinage. The inscription is disposed in three horizontal registers, with the central line being the most prominent and bearing the primary royal or religious formula. The regnal year, when present, appears in the lower portion of the field. The entire design fills the flan with no border other than the irregular edge typical of hammered production.
