| Reverse description | The reverse of this octagonal gold mohur bears a four-line inscription in Assamese script filling the entire field, reading 'Shri Shri Swarga / Deva Shri Shiva / Singha Nripasya / Shake 1646', identifying the issuing king as Siva Singha, Lord of Heaven (Swargadeva), and providing the regnal date in the Shaka era (1646 Shaka = 1724 CE). The bold, raised Assamese characters are struck on a slightly irregular hammered flan. The field is enclosed within a beaded border that follows the octagonal outline of the coin, consistent with Ahom royal coinage conventions of the early eighteenth century. |
