| Reverse description | The reverse presents a centrally placed Arabic calligraphic inscription set within an elegant cartouche or pointed oval medallion, rendered in bold naskh script with deeply incised strokes. The central field bears the mint name Akbarabad and the regnal year, flanked by floral or foliate arabesque ornaments characteristic of Mughal numismatic design. A circular marginal legend encircles the entire composition, recording additional imperial and religious formulae. The hammered flan exhibits a slightly irregular outline typical of hand-struck Mughal gold mohurs. The overall artistic execution reflects the refined calligraphic tradition of the Shah Jahan period. |
