| Reverse description | The reverse is similarly divided into horizontal registers of Nasta'liq calligraphy framed by raised linear borders. The upper register bears the Kalima or a portion of the Islamic profession of faith, while the central band carries the mint name Ahmadabad and the regnal year. The lower register displays the Hijri date numerals. Leafy or floral ornaments appear at the margins, a stylistic feature consistent with Ahmadabad mint issues of the early Shah Jahan period. The overall design reflects the refined epigraphic tradition of Mughal imperial gold coinage. |
