| Reverse description | The reverse displays multi-register Persian and Arabic legends in bold Naskh script, recording the mint name, the Hijri regnal year, and the regnal year of Shah Alam II. The central field is divided by horizontal raised lines into distinct bands of inscription, with a prominent six-pointed star ornament at center flanked by the textual elements. Small lozenge-shaped ornamental devices appear between the lines of text, and the mint name appears in the upper register arc. The composition, typical of Bengal Presidency Mughal-style mohurs, fills the planchet to the rim in the tradition of late eighteenth-century hammered gold coinage. |
