Reverse description Persian inscription in Nasta'liq script distributed across the reverse field in horizontal registers, recording the mint name Amritsar (Amritsar dar ul-sultanat) and the regnal or Nanakshahi year. Additional floral dot ornaments fill the interstices between the lines of text. The calligraphic style is bold and deeply struck, consistent with the hammered coinage tradition of the Sikh Empire's Amritsar mint, evoking the Mughal epigraphic mohur format.
