| Obverse description | The obverse bears a three-line Persian inscription in Nastaliq script arranged within the central field, reading the Mughal-style couplet invoking divine authority granted to Ahmad Shah to strike coinage. The legend is distributed across three horizontal registers, with decorative floral or foliate separators flanking the lower line. The script is boldly rendered in the manner of Mughal imperial coinage, with the characteristic swooping letterforms of Nastaliq calligraphy. The entire design occupies the full flan with no portraiture, consistent with Islamic numismatic convention. A simple inner border frames the inscribed field. |
