| Obverse description | A bull (Taurus) stands to the right in high relief within a toothed inner border, rendered in the bold, stylized manner characteristic of Jahangir's celebrated zodiac coinage. A radiate sun rises behind the animal's back, its rays fanning outward in a semicircular arc. The composition fills the flan with confident, almost primitive vigour, the bull's musculature and hooves clearly delineated against a plain field. The toothed border frames the design with a decorative dentilated ring that follows the coin's irregular hammered edge. |
