| Obverse description | Central field bears the Persian/Urdu legend 'Ba-zaman-i-mubarak George VI' (In the auspicious reign of George VI) arranged around a jhar (floral spray) symbol accompanied by the Daroga mark. The outer legend reads 'Shah-i-Inglistan, Emperor-i-Hindustan' (King of England, Emperor of India), affirming George VI's imperial titles. The inscriptions are rendered in Nastaliq script typical of Jodhpur hammered gold coinage of the period. |
