| Reverse description | Central octagonal medallion enclosing a stylised flaming trident (trishula) surmounted by a crescent and surrounded by a row of pellets, all rendered in bold relief characteristic of Malla-period Newar craftsmanship. Six lobed cartouches arranged around the octagon each contain individual Devanagari syllables forming the devotional legend invoking Gorakshanath. The field between the cartouches is filled with interlaced scroll work, and the whole composition is bounded by a beaded outer rim. |
