Reverse description Central field depicts the frontal standing figure of Jesus Christ, nimbed with a cruciform halo, robed in long garments and raising the right hand in benediction while holding the Gospels in the left hand. The figure stands upon a decorative stepped platform or plinth. The surrounding circular legend • TIBI • SOLI • GLORIA •, meaning 'To Thee alone be glory', is distributed around the periphery of the irregularly shaped hammered flan. The overall design is executed in the bold, flat relief characteristic of late fifteenth-century Venetian hammered silver.
