A trade token in paper form rather than a celluloid or cardboard chit — unusual for a small-town Wisconsin brewhouse. Weyauwega is a Waupaca County community that sustained a disproportionate number of local brewing operations relative to its population through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, most issuing metal or hard composition tokens rather than paper scrip. Haufschildt's paper chit for a mixed pint suggests either a very late issue, when metal was less practical, or a deliberately cheap in-house solution for tracking tab credit.
