| Obverse description | Six large Chinese ideograms arranged vertically and horizontally across the field, reading 光緒銀圓壹錢 (Guangxu Silver Coin One Qian). The characters are rendered in bold relief with strong strokes. The lowest character 圓 (yuan/round) appears within a rectangular cartouche at the base of the design. The entire coin is bordered by a prominent toothed or beaded rim. |
