Obverse description Four large Chinese characters arranged in the field in a quadrant pattern, reading from top to bottom and right to left. The characters 光 (Guang) and 銀 (Yin) appear in the upper right and upper left quadrants respectively, while 緒 (Xu) and 圓 (Yuan) occupy the lower right and lower left quadrants. The characters are rendered in a bold, brushstroke style typical of Qing dynasty provincial coinage, set against a plain, slightly irregular field characteristic of hand-struck silver issues.
