| Reverse description | A prominent long cross pattée extends to the edges of the inner circle, dividing the field into four equal quarters, each left plain. An inner beaded or linear circle intersects the arms of the cross, creating a characteristic double-circle arrangement typical of Burgundian-influenced mites of the period. The circumferential Latin legend is distributed between the inner and outer border, interrupted by the cross arms. The die work is bold but somewhat irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production circa 1460. |
