Obverse description At center, a kite-shaped heraldic shield bearing a rampant stag facing left, with a crescent moon in the upper sinister canton and a six-pointed star in the upper dexter canton. Above the shield, a rectangular cartouche displays the royal initials I·E·R·V (Ioannes Electus Rex Ungariae), identifying the issuing authority as János Zsigmond, elected King of Hungary. The date 1562 is divided and inscribed at the base of the shield in two lines. The coin is struck uniface on a broad, irregular flan in the military tallér tradition, with all design elements confined to this single face.
