Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Charles II facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair and classical drapery at the truncation. A thistle device appears below the bust. The effigy displays the king in a bold, baroque portrait style typical of Scottish milled coinage of the Restoration period.
