Reverse description Central field displays a cross pattée similar to the obverse, with the quadrants occupied by abbreviated lettering forming the civic names of Verona and Vicenza. The legend VE RO N A and CI VI are distributed in segments between the arms of the cross and separated by pellet stops, mirroring the joint-issue iconography of the obverse. A beaded inner circle frames the central cross device. The outer marginal legend continues the civic inscription around the irregular periphery of the flan. The hammered production technique results in a characteristically uneven surface typical of mid-fourteenth-century north Italian billon coinage.
