| Obverse description | Displayed Imperial German eagle with spread wings, facing forward, surmounted by an imperial crown above the head. A heraldic shield bearing the Hohenzollern arms is placed on the breast of the eagle. The eagle's talons grip orb and sceptre, with decorative mantling extending from the shield. The mint mark 'J' appears in the lower field below the eagle's tail feathers. The design is executed in high relief with finely detailed feathering, bordered by a beaded inner rim. |
