The Verein Naturschutzpark, founded in 1909, was one of Germany's earliest organized nature conservation societies, established specifically to protect the Lüneburg Heath. During the inflationary chaos of 1921, even private associations and regional organizations issued their own emergency currency — Notgeld — to manage local transactions when official small-denomination coinage had effectively vanished from circulation. This note is part of that broader wave of privately issued scrip, which by 1921 had become as much a promotional vehicle as a practical monetary instrument.

The Heidepark designation ties it to the society's flagship protected area rather than to Stuttgart, where the organization was headquartered.
