The "Verein ehemaliger 94er" refers to a veterans' association of former members of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 94, a Thuringian unit that served in the First World War. Like hundreds of similar regimental associations across Weimar Germany, the group issued notgeld not primarily out of monetary necessity by 1921 — the acute coin shortage had largely passed — but as a fundraising and commemorative instrument sold to collectors. The emergency currency market had by then become a deliberate secondary economy in printed ephemera.

Whether this note ever circulated in any meaningful sense is doubtful.
