Obverse description Central device depicts the Imperial German eagle displayed, with spread wings, a crowned head facing dexter, and a decorative breast shield, rendered in high relief. The eagle is flanked on either side by sprays of oak leaves and acorns, framing the design symmetrically. A beaded inner border encircles the composition, with a further beaded outer border running along the rim. The mint mark 'A' for the Berlin Mint appears at the base of the design below the oak branches. The field is smooth and unlettered, consistent with pattern coinage produced during the transitional Weimar-era period.
