The Oberschlesier-Hilfstag — Upper Silesian Aid Day — was a fundraising campaign run across Germany in 1921 during the plebiscite crisis, when the status of Upper Silesia was being contested between Germany and Poland under League of Nations supervision. Towns and districts issued commemorative Notgeld tied to the event, with proceeds intended to support ethnic Germans in the region. Halberstadt's participation was typical of a Prussian administrative center with strong nationalist sympathies at the time.

Faber of Magdeburg printed for numerous Notgeld issuers across the Prussian province of Saxony, and their work on this series is competent but unexceptional by the standards of the Serienschein boom.
