Obverse description Central device depicting a medieval galley or cog sailing upon stylized waves, its hull rendered with horizontal ribbing suggesting a clinker-built construction. Above the vessel, a spread eagle with outstretched wings perches prominently, referencing the civic heraldry of Gollnow. The legend GOLLNOW is arranged peripherally around the field, reading clockwise. Two small crossed anchors or decorative elements appear in the lower exergual area beneath the waves.

The date 1921 is distributed peripherally, split to either side of the cartouche — '19' to the left and '21' to the right — with further ornamental tick-mark borders framing the composition around the rim.
