| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in green and black on a pale blue-grey ground, with a wide central vignette under an arched frame presenting a panoramic view of a formal war memorial ground: a stepped mound surmounted by a monument rises at centre, flanked by symmetrical rows of grave markers and promenading figures under a dramatic clouded sky. The denomination "1 Mark" appears in a bold black cartouche at the top centre, followed immediately below by the dialectal Low German designation "Ook-Geld" in large Gothic lettering.
