Comments

Bruchhausen is a small settlement in the Höxter district, and its decision to issue notgeld in 1921 places this firmly in the second wave of German municipal emergency money — by then less about genuine coin shortages and more about local revenue from collector demand. Dozens of Westphalian parishes issued similar small-denomination paper that year with little intention of serious circulation.

The DeNG reference confirms this as the first of three known types from this issuer, suggesting the Gemeinde ran at least one subsequent printing.
