Reverse description Salmon-pink note with a decorative border of scrollwork and four circular corner medallions each inscribed "1 MARK". The central vignette, rendered in dark engraved line-work, shows two coal miners at work inside a mine gallery — one standing and operating a pneumatic drill against the rock face, the other kneeling beside a mine cart. Flanking the vignette are two shield-shaped heraldic devices bearing crossed miners' hammers. A four-line verse in German is divided above and below the vignette.
