Um das Jahr 1385 geriet der Lippische Graf Bernard in die
Gefangenschaft des Herzogs von Braunschweig. Hornsche Bürger
beschlossen dessen heimliche Befreiung, zur nächtlichen Stunde
zogen sie zur Kahlenburg im Braunschweigischen, die Befreiung
glückte. Zur Erinnerung trägt das Rott der Hornschen
Schlachtschwertierer noch heute Rüstung und Schwert bei passenden
