| Obverse description | Printed in dark red and pink on a light blue-grey paper, the obverse is laid out in a bold, hand-lettered Art Nouveau style typical of German Notgeld issues. The denomination 'EEN MARK' is inscribed in large display lettering across a lozenge-shaped guilloche cartouche at centre, flanked by the numeral '1,00' repeated at upper left and upper right. A banner scroll at the top bears the legend 'GODSCHIEN' with the date '19 ÖVER 21' beneath it. At lower centre, a shield-shaped vignette displays a stylised town gate or bridge motif. Flanking text in Low German dialect notes the expiry date of 30 April 1922 and the redemption conditions, while 'DE STADT BREDSTEDT' appears along the lower margin above two manuscript signatures and the designer credit. |
