| Obverse description | Light green guilloche underprint covers the central field, over which two crossed flagstaffs bear the French tricolour and the British Union Jack, joined at the intersection by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. Four heraldic shields occupy the corners — the Danish Dannebrog cross (upper left), the Imperial German quartered shield (upper right), the Swedish yellow cross on blue (lower left), and the Norwegian red-and-white cross on blue (lower right) — flanking the large denomination numerals '1 MARK' at left and right. A decorative banner scroll at the top carries the issuer's name, below which a serial-number cartouche is printed, and the date 'BROAGER, d. 10. FEBR. 1920' and the manuscript signature of the Kommuneforstander appear at the foot. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in full colour with a panoramic vignette set within a leafy green border punctuated at each corner by a red-and-white Danish roundel. At centre, a large Danish Dannebrog banner on a lance radiates bold red sunrays across a sky-blue ground; two rampant orange lions support the banner from below, recalling the Danish royal arms. To the left rises the twin-spired silhouette of Broager Church against a pastoral landscape, while to the right a coastal chalk-cliff scene with water and trees completes the composition. Arching around the central motif in bold letterpress is the patriotic Danish motto regarding reunification with Denmark. |
